From Breakouts to Breakthroughs: The Esthetician’s Story Behind Brightside Esthetics in Huntington Beach
Three years ago, Brightside Esthetics opened its doors as a small studio with a big heart. But the story didn’t begin there. It began over a decade earlier — not in a treatment room, but in the mirror.
Over thirteen years ago, I was struggling. I battled with acne, low confidence, and a deep discomfort in my own skin. That pain pushed me to pursue esthetics school, hoping to find answers for myself — and eventually to help others find theirs. What I didn’t know then was that this journey would become so much more than skin deep.
For 10 years, I worked for other businesses in the industry. I gained valuable experience, grew in my skills, and fell in love with the art of transformation. But chronic neck injuries and a workplace that didn’t honor my medical accommodations forced me into a tough season — one of pain, reflection, and ultimately, redirection.
In that season, the Lord gave me a word: “Dig your own well.”
It was time to build something of my own. A place where client care wasn’t rushed and where education, results, and genuine connection came first. A place where I could protect my health while still giving my all. That’s when Brightside was born — in complete faith that God would provide, even though I had no formal business experience.
Over the past three years, Brightside Esthetics has grown into something I couldn’t have imagined. I’ve poured my passion into ongoing education, developing new treatment protocols, and rewriting what client care should look like. I’ve been able to bring a level of care and intention that goes beyond trends — rooted in science, supported by results, and always guided by heart.
More than anything, my passion has remained the same:
To help others feel comfortable and confident in their skin.
To remind people that beauty doesn’t start with a product — it starts from the inside out.
To walk with my clients on their journey toward healing, clarity, self-love and care.
After the first year of Brightside, I entered another season of preparation — this time searching for someone who shared the same passion and values to grow alongside. And 2.5 years in, God brought me the perfect associate: Lauren.
Lauren has brought a fresh and beautiful energy to Brightside. With her added expertise in skin care, brow lamination, tinting, and dermaplaning, we’ve been able to expand our offerings and our impact. But more than that, she shares the same heart for excellence, growth, and helping people feel truly seen and cared for.
Together, we dream big— from one day launching an advanced esthetics academy to expanding Brightside’s reach, we know this is just the beginning. Our eyes are fixed on what’s ahead — but we never forget what brought us here.
This month, as we celebrate three years of Brightside Esthetics, we’re doing more than throwing a party. We’re honoring the people who made this possible: you.
