Your Best Skin Starts at Brightside Esthetics: Huntington Beach's Home for Corrective Facials & Waxing
Your Guide to a Confident First Visit
Here's exactly what happens at a first visit, what it costs, and what to expect.
01 · First Visit
Getting Here
Expect a welcoming, clean space where results and your confidence come first.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
We'll text you a confirmation link 15 minutes before your appointment, so you'll know exactly what's next before you even walk in.
WHERE WE ARE
Brightside Esthetics is inside the Elements Salon Studio building in Huntington Beach. We're the first studios inside the lobby, Whitney is in Studio #18 and Angie is right beside her in Studio #19.
PARKING
Free, on-site surface parking right outside the building, no permit or validation needed. Wheelchair-accessible spaces are available. It can get busy during peak hours, so give yourself a few extra minutes if you're coming at a popular time.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE
We're a reception free studio, so once you arrive, just take a seat in the lobby and text 714-698-9529 to let us know you're here. We'll come meet you shortly.
02 · First Facial
What to Expect During Your First Facial
Your first facial starts with your skin, not a menu. Starts at $125 with free consultation.
HOW WE KEEP YOU SAFE
We use professional grade products like PCA Skin, and every esthetician here is trained in how to use them properly, not just what they do. We work progressively, not aggressively, so results are ones your skin can actually keep instead of a quick fix that fades in a few weeks.
WHAT HAPPENS
We look at what's actually going on — texture, tone, barrier, congestion — and talk through what's working and what isn't. Your first facial here includes a free consultation.
You'll leave knowing what your skin needs, what it'll take, and roughly how long, and we'll guide you every step after that too. We follow up, and we're always here if you have questions.
WHAT IT FEELS LIKE
A facial shouldn't hurt. Most people find it relaxing, some clients come in just for that, and it's a nice bonus even when we're treating something specific.
Some treatments bring light redness or a small breakout in the first day or two as things move to the surface, we'll tell you upfront if that's likely for you.
IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU
We specialize in corrective facials, not basic ones, so whether you're breaking out, dealing with dullness, or just starting to notice fine lines, we build the plan around what your skin actually needs that day, not a fixed protocol everyone gets.
That's the difference between a facial and a real plan for your skin. It's why people who've already tried everything else end up here.
03 · First Wax
What to Expect During Your First Wax
If it's your first waxing experience, here's the honest version. Starts at $71.
WHAT HAPPENS
Ideally hair is about a quarter inch, roughly two weeks of growth, so the wax has something to grip. We'll walk you through each step before we start.
WHAT IT FEELS LIKE
The first waxing experience can be a bit uncomfortable, since the hair is thick and your skin isn't used to it, but our expert waxers use special techniques and high-quality wax to keep it as comfortable as possible. We use a professional-grade wax exclusive to Brightside, gentle on skin, minimal irritation, and built for all skin types, for less discomfort and cleaner results.
IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU
If you're tired of shaving every few days, tired of razor bumps, or just want results that actually last without the irritation, this is exactly what waxing solves.
HOW WE KEEP YOU SAFE
We never double dip. Every strip, spatula, and glove is single use.
04 · Before You Come
Prep Guide
A little prep helps, but nothing here is a requirement.
FOR A FACIAL
✓ If you can, pause retinol and exfoliating acids 3 to 5 days before, it just helps your skin handle the treatment better.
✓ We don't mind if you come with makeup on, just bring yourself.
FOR A WAX
✓ Let hair grow to about a quarter inch, roughly 2 to 3 weeks since your last shave or wax.
✓A gentle exfoliation a day or two before can help, but no pressure if you don't get to it.
✓ Caffeine right before can make skin more sensitive, worth keeping in mind if you're nervous.
05 · Before You Book

Your Expert Estheticians
06 - Who You’ll Meet
Whitney
The owner and founder of Brightside Esthetics, with 13 years of experience as a licensed esthetician and a long list of advanced certifications, including two Master level credentials.
After healing her own skin years ago, she built Brightside to help clients get real, lasting results instead of quick fixes.
Angie
A licensed esthetician with several advanced certifications, including two Master level credentials and a specialty in hard wax.
Personally trained by Whitney and held to the same standards, she digs into why your skin is doing what it's doing, not just what's on the surface, so your treatment actually gets to the root of it.
No problem! Either select a service that is in the category of what you’re looking for or reach out via text at 714-698-9529 to ask!
Whether you're looking for a wax, skincare treatment, or brow enhancement service, we’ll start with a thorough consultation to understand your goals, concerns, and preferences.
You don't need to know the specifics before you book. That part's on us.

First Timer Questions & Everything You Need to Know
-
We reassess your skin at every appointment, not just the first. What we planned in January isn't automatically what you get in March, because your skin in March isn't the same skin.
And we'll tell you when the answer is not yet — if your barrier is compromised, a peel sets you back, so we repair first and treat second. Slower start, faster result.
-
No. We don't charge for things you don't need. If your skin isn't ready for what you booked, we do what's actually useful instead.
-
Pricing varies by service and what your skin needs, so the most accurate place to see current pricing for every treatment is our online booking page. You can browse all services and prices there before booking anything.
-
Anything about your skin, medications, or recent treatments that might affect it, retinol use, recent sun exposure, allergies, anything active or reactive. If you're not sure it's relevant, tell us anyway, we'd rather know.
-
No. Tell us before we start, and we'll adjust or hold off on anything that could trigger a reaction. Reactive skin isn't a reason to skip a facial, it just means we go slower.
-
Plan for 60 minutes for a first facial, 30 minutes for a first wax. We build in extra time on first visits so nothing feels rushed.
-
Text us as soon as you know. A few minutes usually isn't an issue, but it can affect your service time, see our full late policy for details.
-
Yes. If you'd like Whitney or Angie specifically, just select them when booking or let us know by text.
