Most of the darkening in these areas is caused by hair removal. Treating the discoloration while continuing to shave aggressively is working against yourself. Waxing takes hair from the root and irritates the surface far less than repeated shaving, so the two together do more than either alone.

How long this actually takes
This is maintenance rather than a single correction, and we would rather say so now than after your first appointment.
Results develop across consistent treatments and hold when paired with home care and a regular hair removal routine. One session will not resolve years of friction pigment.
Sometimes the answer is wait.
If the area is currently irritated, freshly waxed, sunburned or broken out, we wait. Treating inflamed skin for pigment that was caused by inflammation makes it worse.
